Surfing Australia has officially announced the schedule for the 2025 National Titles, showcasing various surfing disciplines at iconic locations across the country. The calendar highlights the diverse styles of surfing and the unique waves suited to each discipline, aiming to celebrate Australia’s premier surf spots.
The series will begin with the Australian Para Surfing Titles in Byron Bay, New South Wales, from March 23-25, 2025. This event will include an opening ceremony on March 23, followed by two days of competition on March 24 and 25. It will run alongside an Association of Adaptive Surfing Professionals (AASP) World Tour event, emphasizing inclusivity and showcasing the skills of para surfers.
Next, the Australian Indigenous Surfing Titles will return to Bells Beach, Victoria, from May 30 to June 1. The event opens with a ceremony on May 30, leading into three days of surfing competitions that celebrate Indigenous culture and talent.
The Australian Longboard Titles will take place on the Tweed Coast, New South Wales, from July 22-27. The event begins with an opening ceremony at the Hyundai High Performance Centre on July 22. Masters competitions will run from July 23-26, while Opens competitors will take the stage on July 26-27.
A major milestone in 2025 is the Australian Bodyboard Titles, which will be held for the first time at URBNSURF Sydney, a wave park venue. This groundbreaking event will run from August 21-22, featuring a welcome function on the first day and the competition on the second.
Following this, the Australian Shortboard Titles will return to Wollongong, New South Wales, from August 26-31. The opening ceremony is scheduled for August 26, with Masters competitions running from August 27-30 and Opens competitions wrapping up the event on August 30-31.
The Australian SUP (Stand-Up Paddleboarding) Titles will take place on Phillip Island, Victoria, from October 21-25. The competition begins with an opening ceremony on October 21. SUP Surfing events will run from October 22-24, followed by a technical race on October 24 and a marathon race on October 25.
The calendar concludes with the Australian Junior Surfing Titles. While the specific location and details are yet to be announced, further updates are expected in the coming weeks.
The winners of selected divisions from the Para Surfing, SUP, Longboard, Shortboard, and Junior Titles will secure places on the prestigious Irukandjis Team, representing Australia at the ISA World Championships.
