Daniel Farke appears set to strengthen Leeds United’s attack during the January transfer window, as reported by Dom Howson from *LeedsLive*. Despite a solid start to the season, with Leeds United currently sitting third in the Championship, there’s a clear drive for reinforcement in the forward line to boost their chances of securing automatic promotion to the Premier League.
Although Leeds were linked to numerous attackers over the summer, they didn’t secure a marquee signing to replace the contributions of departed players like Georginio Rutter and Crysencio Summerville. Leeds did acquire wingers Largie Ramazani and Manor Solomon, but injuries have limited their availability, challenging Farke’s options up front.
Howson highlights that Leeds’ recent attempts to sign a central attacking playmaker over the summer were unsuccessful, and bringing in a versatile forward in January could make a decisive impact. Leeds boasts one of the best attacking and defensive records in the league, with just nine goals conceded and strong scoring stats, only trailing Sunderland in goal tally. Still, while Joe Piroe is currently leading with six goals, the overall goal distribution has been more balanced than last season, where Summerville, Dan James, and Piroe were leading scorers.
With promotion in sight, Farke’s priority for a reliable striker could be the final push Leeds needs to secure a top-two finish, avoiding the playoff route that has proved challenging in the past.
