As the holiday season begins, NASCAR fans are gearing up for the upcoming races at Martinsville and the finals at Phoenix. However, that doesn’t mean Halloween festivities are forgotten! Dale Earnhardt Jr. and his family are getting into the spirit, sharing a few entertaining Halloween-related anecdotes. While the kids seem excited about their costume choices, Earnhardt Jr. is less enthusiastic about his wife Amy’s ideas for his attire, leading to a humorous disagreement.
Halloween is all about fun and creative costumes, but it seems Amy Earnhardt is struggling to convince her husband to embrace the Halloween spirit. The couple’s two children have their costumes planned—Nicole wants to dress up as a minion, while Isla has chosen a princess-inspired look from Descendants. Amy herself plans to dress as Maleficent, but finding the right costume for Earnhardt Jr. has been a bit trickier.

Amy suggested a Captain Hook outfit for Earnhardt Jr., hoping he might warm to the idea with minimal time to back out. She humorously shared that they might wait until the last minute to tell him, saying, “This is one of those situations where you tell him right beforehand so we don’t have a lot of time to change our mind.” However, that wasn’t the only idea Amy had. She also hinted that Dale could dress as a “weird blue man” from a musical the girls enjoy—possibly Hades from Hercules. This idea, however, didn’t sit well with Earnhardt Jr., who wasn’t thrilled at the thought of wearing a mask or covering his face with elaborate accessories.
Amy recounted Dale’s reaction to the suggestion, laughing about his reluctance to put on someone else’s “face.” She teased that he might even wear the costume for an event like “pie in the sky,” leaving fans eagerly waiting to see if he’ll take on a Halloween persona this year. Though Dale might not be the biggest fan of dressing up, Halloween is for everyone, and fans are excited to see what he’ll finally choose.
While Earnhardt Jr. may or may not fully embrace Halloween costumes, he has something special in store for his fans. He’s making a much-anticipated return to racing with the No. 8 Chevrolet, reviving the famous Budweiser theme for the South Carolina 400 at Florence Motor Speedway. This marks his first appearance with the “Bud King of Beers” scheme in 17 years. Reflecting on this iconic combination, Earnhardt Jr. shared his excitement: “It is an incredible opportunity for me to be able to reunite with Budweiser and the No. 8. Budweiser and I had some great memories with that iconic scheme and number. We’ve always supported each other over the years. It’s going to be really special for me to be able to represent that brand on the racetrack again.”
The return of the No. 8 Chevrolet with Budweiser’s iconic red scheme is set to be a memorable sight for fans, as it recalls Earnhardt Jr.’s lasting impact on NASCAR.
