Sports legend Simone Biles said she found the emotional release she was looking for at Paris 2024 in the last episode of her new Netflix documentary, Simone Biles: Rising.
The 27-year-old’s outstanding performance in the artistic gymnastics made history in the French capital. She accomplished this by being the first female athlete to win two non-consecutive Olympic all-around titles.
Biles shared her feelings during her Netflix screening of the second segment of her new documentary, which was created in association with the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
In an exclusive interview with Olympics.com, Biles said, “I was so focused on the Olympics that whenever I watched it back, that was kind of the release that I had.” After the Olympics, you’re at your peak and don’t really have time to decompress, so I believe it’s simply the emotions.”
“I felt like I held a good attitude and everything (at the Games),” she continued, referring to her victory in Paris. I had a lot to prove to myself, so there was a lot on the line for me personally, but after that, I felt incredibly liberated.”
and she continues to rise.

Biles’ historic journey is chronicled in her documentary Rising, which includes commentary from her husband Jonathan Owens and parents Ron and Nellie Owens. Biles’ all-around triumph is highlighted in the finals, as her family helps her win a close match against Rebeca Andrade of Brazil following a slip-up on the uneven bars.
Biles went on, “I think it takes a village to succeed.” “I feel like we’ve all done it together once I’m up there. It’s a village, really.
Three years after withdrawing from the women’s team final and four individual finals in Tokyo 2020 in 2021 to focus on her mental health due to the “twisties,” a condition in which a gymnast’s body and head become out of sync, Simone Biles gave a historic performance in Paris.
When asked whether she had a message for her detractors, Biles said, “No, I think the work speaks for itself,” in response to a barrage of internet abuse accusing her of quitting.
