Scheffler recalled, “I remember telling Randy, ‘Hey, I’m trying something here, but I’m not going to tell you what it is. I want to see if you can figure it out.’ And he watched me hit like five balls, and then he pointed out exactly what I was doing.”
Smith’s expertise isn’t just theoretical—his adjustments have led to real success for Scheffler on the course. During the 2024 Masters, Scheffler was struggling with his swing, but Smith offered a simple solution: adjust the grip. This change helped Scheffler win the tournament, earning a $3.6 million prize. Smith’s influence extended beyond individual tournaments as well, helping Team USA win the 2024 Presidents Cup and contributing to Scheffler’s impressive $62.3 million in season earnings.

According to Scheffler, Smith taught him everything he knows about golf.
