Carlos Alcaraz’s Brother Enjoys a Fanboy Moment With Roger Federer as Two Generations Unite in Collaboration at the Shanghai Masters

Carlos Alcaraz’s rise in tennis has been supported by his family, but it’s his brother, Alvaro, who stands out as a unique source of strength. Alvaro travels with Carlos to tournaments around the world and is often seen cheering from the stands. While Carlos has captured much of the spotlight, Alvaro recently became a social media sensation when pictures of him with Roger Federer went viral.

Alcaraz recently competed in the Shanghai Masters, where he was knocked out in the quarterfinals by Tomas Machac. During the tournament, Federer made an appearance to watch several matches. One of the standout moments occurred when Federer met Alvaro, who once played competitive tennis himself but gave up the sport to support his younger brother. The two even played a few rallies together, which fulfilled a long-time dream for Alvaro. He shared his joy on social media, expressing his gratitude to Federer, calling it a “dream come true.”

Federer and Carlos Alcaraz also drew attention as they sat together to watch the Shanghai Masters final between Novak Djokovic and Jannik Sinner, with Sinner ultimately taking the victory. The shared moment between the two tennis stars was particularly notable as both are sponsored by Rolex, the tournament’s title sponsor.

At just 21, Carlos Alcaraz has already established himself as one of the top players of his generation. However, Federer offered him some advice, urging the Spanish player to be cautious as he moves forward. Federer commented on Alcaraz’s incredible intensity, his powerful shots, and his physical prowess but warned that the young star should be careful not to chase every ball unnecessarily. The Swiss legend emphasized that this wisdom would come with time and experience.

Federer’s advice is grounded in his own experiences with injuries. Knee problems plagued Federer toward the end of his career, contributing to his retirement in 2022. Rafael Nadal is also retiring after this season, largely due to injuries. Both players serve as a reminder to Alcaraz about the importance of managing his body as he continues to dominate the ATP Tour.
