Mistake on Simone Biles’ Recent Gold Over America Tour’s Celebratory Cake, Catches Fans’ Attention: “EASY to Crop”

Simone Biles’ Gold Over America Tour has been generating excitement since the start of its second season, which began last month. This season is especially significant as it marks the first time male gymnasts are included in the tour. Notable athletes like Paul Juda, Brody Malone, and Frederick Richards have brought their skills and energy to the stage. The tour has already visited 18 cities, with its recent stop at Gas South Arena in Duluth, where fans were left thrilled by the performance.

This isn’t the first time the tour has come to Duluth. In 2021, during its debut season, Biles and her teammates—Jordan Chiles, McKayla Skinner, Grace McCallum, and Jade Carey—amazed the audience. However, for this season, McKayla Skinner and Grace McCallum are no longer part of the lineup, giving the remaining stars a chance to shine.

Recently, Simone Biles shared a snapshot on her Instagram Stories featuring a two-tier celebratory cake from the Gas South Arena. The cake displayed the Gold Over America Tour poster with “2024. Gas South Arena. October 13.” However, it humorously included a photo from the 2021 tour, featuring Biles alongside Jordan Chiles, McKayla Skinner, Grace McCallum, and Jade Carey. Fans quickly noticed the mix-up, pointing out that neither McKayla Skinner nor Grace McCallum is on this season’s tour, sparking playful reactions online.

One user shared a screenshot of Biles’ post on Reddit with the caption, “An attempt was made!” and joked about the confusion between the year and the photo. Another user pointed out the mistake, noting that the cake featured the wrong athletes, despite the fact that it would have been easy to crop the image to only include Carey, Biles, and Chiles, who are part of the current tour. This observation led to a wave of fan commentary, with people enjoying the humorous oversight.

Simone wasn’t the only one to highlight the cake; Jordan Chiles also posted a clip showing the cake displayed alongside another celebratory dessert. Fans continued to comment on the situation, with one user humorously saying they hadn’t realized the mistake until they saw the post on social media.

The original 2021 tour featured a lineup of stars, including McKayla Skinner, a silver medalist in vault from the 2020 Olympics, and Grace McCallum, who won silver in the team event. Their performances, alongside Simone Biles, the most decorated gymnast of all time, and Jordan Chiles, a silver and gold medalist from Tokyo and Paris, left a lasting impression on fans. Jade Carey also shone in Tokyo and Paris, securing multiple medals.

One fan speculated that the person responsible for the cake might not have been familiar with gymnastics and simply used an old, popular photo of the gymnasts. Despite the mix-up, the playful banter among fans continued, with many finding humor in the situation. One comment summed it up: “They had so many options yet they chose this! I wish Simone commented on the choice of the photo!” The lighthearted reactions illustrate how everyone found the mistake amusing.
