The highly anticipated 2024 matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and Pittsburgh Steelers, scheduled for Sunday Night Football at Acrisure Stadium, faced an indefinite delay due to an intense hailstorm that hit the area just before kickoff. The storm was severe enough to cause significant concern, with radio host Zach Wolchuk capturing footage that demonstrated the harsh weather conditions.
Both teams came into this game with much at stake. The Cowboys, sitting at 2-2, were looking to rebound after splitting their first four games. They had managed road victories over the Cleveland Browns and New York Giants but suffered home losses to the New Orleans Saints and Baltimore Ravens. Catching up to the Washington Commanders, who had been on a roll with key players Jayden Daniels and Dan Quinn, was critical for Dallas. Quarterback Dak Prescott had an inconsistent season so far, excelling with over 500 passing yards combined in the losses but struggling to surpass 300 yards in their two wins. Meanwhile, their divisional rivals, the Baltimore Ravens, had been gaining momentum, winning decisively against the Buffalo Bills and outlasting the Cincinnati Bengals to move to 3-2.
