With “Main Objective Achieved”, Lionel Messi Reveals Future Plans at Inter Miami

Just a year ago, Inter Miami finished their MLS season in 14th place with 34 points. Fast forward to today, and the Herons have defied expectations by winning the 2024 MLS Supporters’ Shield after a close 2-3 victory over Columbus Crew. Lionel Messi, in a post-match interview, revealed that their next goal is to break the MLS points record. Miami currently has 68 points, and with two games remaining against Toronto and New England, they have a chance to surpass the New England Revolution’s 2021 record of 73 points.

Messi emphasized the team’s strength, noting the advantage of hosting all their MLS Cup games at home, where they’ve been particularly strong. He praised his teammates’ work ethic and responsibility throughout the season, highlighting the victory over the former champions as a testament to their collective strength, despite facing adversity during the match.

With Messi leading the way and players like Luis Suarez contributing significantly, Inter Miami now has its sights set on finishing the season strong and making a deep run in the MLS Cup.
