New USA manager Mauricio Pochettino makes decision on Leeds United star as Wednesday announcement made

The October international break is quickly approaching, and several Leeds United players are preparing to represent their national teams. However, before the break, Leeds will face Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on Friday night. Sunderland, currently among the Championship’s top teams, will host Daniel Farke’s Leeds, who sit in fifth place.

Leeds are facing a series of injury problems. Ethan Ampadu is out until January, and Ilia Gruev might be out for a similar period after picking up an injury against Norwich. Dan James, Max Wober, and Manor Solomon are also sidelined. While Isaac Schmidt may be available for the match, there’s no urgency to rush him back into the starting lineup.

Brenden Aaronson, one of Leeds’ key players, has been called up for international duty with the United States under new manager Mauricio Pochettino. Aaronson has been a standout for Leeds this season, contributing to three goals in the last six Championship games. Pochettino, who previously managed Tottenham and Chelsea, is preparing for his first USA matches, including friendlies against Panama and Mexico in mid-October. Aaronson is set to earn his 45th and 46th caps for his country.

With Leeds dealing with several injuries and missing key attackers like James and Solomon, Aaronson’s importance to the team has grown significantly. Despite some criticism early on, his consistent performances have impressed Farke.
