Carlos Alcaraz has expressed frustration over the packed tennis schedule, stating that the intensity could potentially harm players. Several top players have supported his concerns, while others suggest athletes manage their own schedules for better physical well-being. The issue has been highlighted ahead of the Shanghai Masters, where players like Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, and Daniil Medvedev are forced to transition directly from the China Open with little to no rest.

Despite receiving a first-round bye, the tight transition between tournaments leaves them with minimal recovery time, increasing the risk of injury and fatigue.
