Drua fired-up for first ever home Brumbies clash

The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua is set to kick off their Super Rugby Pacific season with high expectations as they prepare to host the Brumbies for the first time, hoping to secure their first victory against the Australian team.

Drua CEO Mark Evans emphasized the importance of this match, drawing attention to the difference between playing in Canberra’s cold night games and the warm, lively atmosphere of Suva. He noted that the announcement of the game has already generated positive feedback, building excitement for what is expected to be a thrilling contest.

Evans pointed out that while the Brumbies have never played in Fiji, the Drua have experienced several chilly Friday nights in Canberra, making the warm afternoon in Suva for their first-round match a welcome change.

He also mentioned the team’s aim to maintain a balanced schedule, with four games in Suva and three in the Western Division. Last season, disruptions allowed only two of seven home games to be played in Suva, but this year they are returning to a more even distribution.

The Drua will face off against the Brumbies on February 15th at 3:35 PM at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
