Fans Fear for Anthony Joshua as “Drake Curse” Scare Strikes in Israel Adesanya’s 5 Figure Bet Before Daniel Dubois Fight

Israel Adesanya has thrown his support behind Anthony Joshua ahead of Joshua’s upcoming fight against Daniel Dubois for the IBF world heavyweight title at Wembley Stadium. The event, part of Riyadh Season: Joshua vs. Dubois, has created buzz among boxing fans, especially since Joshua and Dubois have a history dating back to a sparring session where Dubois landed a memorable punch on Joshua.

Adesanya took to Instagram to show his support, posting a picture of himself with Joshua and revealing a $10,000 bet on Joshua’s victory, with a potential payout of $50,000. This isn’t the first time Adesanya has backed Joshua; he previously placed a successful bet on Joshua when he fought Otto Wallin in 2023.

Despite Adesanya’s confidence, fans are cautious, drawing parallels to the infamous “Drake Curse,” which seems to affect athletes or teams backed by the Canadian rapper. While Adesanya has had betting success with Joshua before, his own recent loss in UFC 305 and a $20,000 bet on Devin Haney that didn’t pan out have some fans worried. However, many believe Joshua has the upper hand due to his defensive skills compared to Dubois.

As the fight approaches, excitement and skepticism surround Adesanya’s bet, with fans eager to see if Joshua can settle the score with Dubois and live up to the hype.
