Marcus Rashford believes Man United legends are ‘Bullying him’

Manchester United star Marcus Rashford reportedly feels that he is being unfairly criticized by former United players in the media, which he believes amounts to bullying. Rashford, who has struggled with form, has yet to score this season and only managed to score seven Premier League goals in the previous campaign. According to *The i*, Rashford feels the scrutiny he faces is more intense than that directed at his teammates.

A source mentioned that when Rashford makes a mistake, it is highlighted far more than similar errors from other players. This constant criticism, particularly from former United legends, is perceived as a form of bullying, with fans often believing and reinforcing the views of these ex-players. Despite being shifted to a wide role to accommodate new strikers, Rashford continues to create chances, and his camp believes he’s doing his job. They argue that it’s not his fault the team is failing to convert those chances.

Criticism has come from former United players like Gary Neville, Roy Keane, and Teddy Sheringham. Neville, for instance, criticized Rashford’s performance in United’s 3-0 loss to Liverpool, stating that Rashford lacked confidence and failed to challenge defenders when opportunities arose. He expressed concern that Rashford’s enjoyment of the game seems to have diminished over the past 14 months.

In April, Roy Keane stated that Rashford needed “an old-fashioned kick up the a***” to regain his form. He questioned whether Rashford had anyone in his life giving him tough love and pushing him to improve. Sheringham added that Rashford’s best position remains unclear and suggested that hard work and determination are crucial for him to overcome his current slump.

Despite the criticism, Rashford undertook an intense personal training regimen during the international break, aiming to regain his place in the England squad. However, he was left out of both the Euro 2024 squad and new interim manager Lee Carsley’s selection.
