U.S. Gymnastics Icon Samantha Peszek Shares ‘Selfish’ Simone Biles Admission

Simone Biles demonstrated her unmatched skill and dominance in gymnastics by winning four medals—three gold and one silver—at the 2024 Paris Olympics. At 27, this was Biles’ third Olympic appearance, bringing her total to 11 Olympic medals and solidifying her status as the most decorated gymnast of all time.

The question now is whether Biles will compete in the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles. U.S. Gymnastics legend Samantha Peszek, who herself won a silver medal in the team all-around final at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, has expressed a hope to see Biles return. In an exclusive interview with Athlon Sports, Peszek acknowledged the challenges Biles might face but remained optimistic about her potential comeback.

“She’s said she won’t rule it out,” Peszek noted. “It’s exciting because she could take a break and decide to return. Personally, I would love to see her compete again. But given how long she’s been in the sport, it’s uncertain.”

If Biles returns for the 2028 Games, it would mark her fourth Olympic appearance, an extraordinary feat considering she will be 31, an age considered advanced for a gymnast. Despite this, Peszek believes Biles is exceptional and capable of defying expectations.

“If anyone can do it, it’s Simone Biles,” Peszek said, reflecting the belief that Biles’ extraordinary talent and determination could enable her to achieve yet another Olympic milestone.
