Bam Adebayo Reveals Stephen Curry’s Olympics Nickname In Response To Wholesome Miami Wish

When you hear “King,” you immediately think of LeBron James. When you hear “chef,” you automatically think of Stephen Curry. That demonstrates the impact of nicknames in sports. Aside from sounding cool, it demonstrates the influence an athlete has made on a fan’s psyche. And, while Steph has plenty of nicknames, his Team USA colleague Bam Adebayo recently gave him another one. But it was a little perplexing!

Well, it began when the Warriors star complimented Adebayo on receiving a key to Miami County for representing the city and bringing Olympic gold to South Beach. Along with him were five other Olympians who had earned the same honour from Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava. “Last, but tallest.” The mayor said as she contacted Bam to get the key. Steph captioned the lovely video on his Instagram account, “Vet, I see you.”

What are your thoughts on Stephen Curry’s Olympic moniker from Bam Adebayo? Does it reflect the fun side of our NBA heroes?

Recognising his Olympics teammate’s kindness, Bam reshared the story and replied, “MY ROOK,” with a praying hand emoji. Most fans will undoubtedly be confused by the new nickname because Steph is nine years older than Adebayo and has been in the game for considerably longer. However, that makes perfect sense given that this was Bam’s second trip to the Olympics and the Baby-Faced Assassin’s first. So, when in Paris, he was still a rookie to the Miami Heat star. But there were instances when even the “vet” was taken aback by his “rook” Curry’s supremacy.

The moment when Stephen Curry made Bam Adebayo say, “What the F**k!”

During the early days of the Paris Olympics, Bam Adebayo handled business with the utmost professionalism. And his best effort came in the second game against South Sudan, when he scored 18 points on eight of ten shots to lead his team to a landslide victory. Then his role was reduced in the knockout stage, and he had little impact. But that’s when his “rook,” Stephen Curry, took control.

Surely, everyone is aware of his historic performance in the last two games. The Baby-Faced Assassin was unable to miss three out of three times. And one of his shots against France even caught Adebayo off guard, as he later admitted, “I was kind of like ‘What the f**k!'” Yes, after having played against Steph for seven years, he was shocked by his talent once more. However, he soon realised, “Then I remembered who was photographing it.” What can be a bad shot for the rest of the world is sometimes as simple as a layup for Steph. And this is what makes him so brilliant. Furthermore, it’s fantastic to see the camaraderie he had with his teammates during the trip, as evidenced by his online interactions with Adebayo.
