Simone Biles just appeared on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. There, the 11-time medallist discussed her most nervous moment at the Paris Olympics. While many people believe she was performing well in her sport, the truth is quite different. It was when she had to hand up the flag to Tom Cruise during the closing ceremony for fear of damaging it.
She explained, “I’m always stumbling and falling down stairs, which is hazardous for me. So, actually, that was the most nervous I was during the entire Olympics. I had to hand the flag, and all I could think about was not messing it. I was frightened.
