‘Jon Rahm Erasure’: Fans Blast PGA Tour for blatantly disrespecting LIV Golfer’s Legacy

We all know that it just takes a minor bit to spark a major issue, but this time they may be correct. The PGA Tour is known for steering golfer disputes, as evidenced by their most recent Instagram post. The excitement around the President Cup selection was only beginning to subside. And now the PGA Tour has delivered yet another bombshell, and golf fans only needed a small spark to start a complete bonfire.

The PGA Tour’s recent Instagram post revealed the top golfer with the most victories since the 2022 season. The golfer that leads the pack is—we believe the name is quite obvious. Yes, you guessed correctly. Scottie Scheffler now leads the leaderboard with 13 victories, followed by Rory McIlroy with 6. Next in line are Xander Schaueffle and Tony Finau, who have five and four wins, respectively. Now you’ll ask, “Where is the problem here?” Okay, there is one.

Fans were quick to notice Jon Rahm’s name was missing from the list despite his impressive performance over the last year. Jon Rahm’s 2022-2023 season was an outstanding demonstration of his dedication and enthusiasm for golf. He won four major tournaments, including the Masters Tournament, the Genesis Invitational, the American Express, and the Sentry Tournament of Champions. His success did not begin there. In 2021-2022, he won the Mexico Open at Vidanta.

Fans were outraged that the golfer was snubbed despite having four PGA Tour victories and one major title. And we all know what happens when a slew of fans get enraged.

Fans comment on the most recent PGA Tour post.

Disappointed fans went wild in the comments section, prompting the PGA Tour to double-check their numbers. “Rahm should be on there,” one admirer commented. And he certainly should be. As previously stated, Rahm has demonstrated excellent performance in recent years. The LIV golfer also rules the Saudi-backed league. Rahm’s 2024 season saw him win the LIV Golf UK with a remarkable 13-under par total. Not only that, but he has eight top-10 finishes, placing him among the best golfers in the world. “@pgatour Rahm has 5 since 2022? 🤷🏻‍♂️,” added another fan, fuelling the fire.

What are your thoughts on the PGA Tour removing Jon Rahm’s legacy to weaken LIV Golf’s credibility?

“Jon Rahm’s erasure,” one fan wrote. While the comment may be short, it says volumes and holds officials accountable for leaving Rahm off the list. While many fans were disappointed not to see Rahm, others were surprised to see Tony Finau there. “Surprised about Tony, but excited to see it,” one admirer commented. It shouldn’t come as a surprise, given how much the golfer has improved in recent years. Finau has four PGA TOUR victories, including the 2023 Cadence Bank Houston Open, the 2023 Mexico Open at Vidanta, the 2022 3M Open, and the 2022 Rocket Mortgage Classic, which deserves recognition.

This fan took the time to praise the golfer while the rest were busy pointing out the flaws. “Hit the fairways and greens. “Well done, gentlemen.” “Well done” might be an understatement here. The golfers are currently among the greatest in our industry, and the anticipation for who will win the 2024 Presidents Cup is palpable. Have you any guesses?
