Dale Earnhardt Jr. calls Kyle Busch a “sensitive guy” after his bitter defeat at Darlington ends RCR’s playoff hopes.

Kyle Busch’s second-place finish at Darlington would ordinarily be cause for celebration among #8 fans. But not now—not when the playoffs are on the line. What was once a regular season routine for Busch is now a bombshell, as he will not race in the playoffs for the first time since 2012.

Kyle Busch is to blame for missing the playoffs, but Chase Briscoe deserves praise for his Darlington anguish. As the NASCAR world erupted over Busch’s relaxed approach on the final lap, Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s Dirty Mo Media account commented on X.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. criticises Kyle Busch.

Kyle Busch was angry as Briscoe delivered his greatest performance of the season thus far. The final lap chase had everyone on their toes, anticipating Busch to overtake at any time, but it did not happen. Hours later, Dirty Mo Media covered it on X. The post read, “Kyle Busch is defeated. “He does not qualify for the playoffs.”

Kyle Busch can be seen sipping water in the video, appearing to be watching Briscoe’s celebration burnout. The #8 quickly responded to the post! He asked, “Hate post?” The back-and-forth was ended by Andrew Curland, the co-host of Dale Earnhardt’s show and the mastermind behind the post, who then wrote, “No disrespect was intended. “Just a tweet capturing the drama of the regular-season finale.”

Curland discussed this discussion on a recent Dale Jr. Download podcast, when he talked about receiving reaction from Busch fans. Emotions on all sides are understandable, given the significance of the victory and the consequences of the defeat. However, Dale Jr. believed that the #8’s reaction was inappropriate because it was not a hate post.

Junior defended his teammate, stating, “Very difficult occasion. Yeah, he’s sensitive and defensive. Isn’t he defensive? He’s spent most of his career feeling like Black Sheep, nearly like you (Curland), just itching an old wound. But I didn’t mean that. I know you didn’t mean anything; sadly, Kyle is in that situation, but you were pointing out that there are two sides to this.

As the saying goes, “One man’s misfortune is another man’s gain.” A heartbreak here resulted in a fantastic story for the other squad. Briscoe’s victory offers SHR a chance to end their run on a positive note. In a post-race interview, Chase Briscoe stated, “For all 320 employees, everybody, to be able to race for a title in their final year, man, fantastic.”

According to Dale Jr., this is what makes sports exciting, when plans fail. Upsets are part of the game! He stated, “As awful as it is for Kyle, that is also what makes sports wonderful. You know, if we didn’t have those almost or devastating moments, I mean, you have to have a wide range of emotions for something to be wonderful.” While the #14’s win was magnificent, so was Kyle Busch’s, as he has been for the past several weeks.

Busch’s streak began with a second-place finish at ‘The Clash’ and then sank. In 26 races, he has 5 DNFs and 5 Top 5 finishes. This is unlikely for a driver regarded for having the most impressive Cup Series stats.

While many believed Busch’s win record would be broken this year, there is still hope as he shows indications of a return. When the series resumed, we saw a different Kyle Busch. He finished 12th in Richmond, fourth in Michigan, and second in both Daytona and Darlington.

Even Dale Earnhardt Jr. is surprised, as he can’t figure out what RCR changed. Later in the podcast, he stated, “Apparently, during the Winter Olympic break, they dug out a pot of gold. I’m not sure what they dug up from the dirt.I’m not sure how it happens with this automobile. I understand what happened with the old car because the teams created the majority of the pieces correctly, allowing you to make some new updates and trick bits, but not with this car. I don’t know if everyone has the same. So I’m not sure how they found any speed, but they did.

Hopefully, this enhanced quickness will convert into a victory. Even if the #8 is not competing for the championship, a win would give him momentum as the season finishes. Ensure that they begin the next season on a positive note. Do you believe Busch can win one of the last ten races? Please share your ideas in the comments below.
