I Understand the Frustration’ – Roger Federer Sides With Nick Kyrgios in Strong Rebuke of ITIA in Jannik Sinner’s Doping Controversy

Jannik Sinner has had quite an interesting year. While he won his first Grand Slam victory at the Australian Open, the Italian star was also entangled in a doping scandal that dominated the headlines before the US Open. Sinner tested positive for Clostebol, a restricted chemical, but escaped penalty by offering a plausible explanation for his failed tests. Nonetheless, Sinner gained widespread support from tennis stars such as Nick Kyrgios. Just hours earlier, Roger Federer sided with Sinner in his doping case.

During an interview with TODAY, Federer stated, “It’s not something we want to see in our sport, these types of things, whether he did anything or not, or any other player did. It is simply noise that we do not want. I understand this is a difficult circumstance. Every athlete and team’s worst nightmare is having these allegations and problems because we fill out these paperwork all day, every day.”
