“Suni Lee Celebrates Coco Gauff’s Milestone Victory Before U.S. Open Upset”

Suni Lee might be one of the most decorated U.S. gymnasts today, but the 21-year-old still makes sure that she is able to follow other sports during her downtime.

This was the case for the six-time Olympic gymnast on Saturday, August 31, as Lee sent a special shoutout to tennis icon Coco Gauff following another historic achievement.

On Friday, August 30, Gauff defeated Ukrainian Elina Svitolina in the third round of the U.S. Open. After losing in the first set, 6-3, Gauff took both the second and third sets to secure the win at the Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York.

This victory marked Gauff’s 60th grand slam win of her career, which at just 20 years of age, is an incredibly remarkable feat. So much so that Suni Lee just had to give the tennis superstar her flowers — or rather, her crowns.

“👑👑👑” Lee captioned her post on X, formerly Twitter.

Lee is clearly a fan of Gauff, who, like Suni, has achieved so much in her career at such a young age. At this point, it would probably be safe to say that both sports of gymnastics and tennis are in good hands, with these two stars paving the way in their respective fields for the years to come.

Unfortunately for Gauff, however, she suffered defeat on Sunday, September 1, in the fourth round against fellow American Emma Navarro. The upset put an end to Gauff’s quest to defend her US Open title.
