WWE Bash in Berlin 2024: Best and Worst – After the main event, a big star seems to turn babyface; is Roman Reigns’ comeback on the horizon?

WWE delivered yet another fun premium live event, as Bash in Berlin was a huge success. However, like every wrestling show, it had its ups and downs. Fortunately, the positives outweigh the negatives by far. This is a staple of the Triple H era.

So, let’s get into it. From title changes to missed opportunities, here are the best and worst things about Bash in Berlin.

3. Best: The in-ring action at Bash in Berlin

If there was one thing Bash in Berlin got right overall, it was the action. All five matches delivered, with a few of them standing out as potential Match of the Year contenders. We will get to the best, but an honorable mention must go out to Gunther and Randy Orton. They had an intense main event followed by a moment of respect to close the show. Was this a babyface turn for The Ring General?

Meanwhile, Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair did a great job as well. The powerhouse duo won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship at the event, following a fun match against The Unholy Union.

#2. Best/Worst: Right result, wrong loser?

The Terror Twins needed a big win at Bash in Berlin, and they got it. Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest must remain strong as they continue to wage war on The Judgment Day. Their mixed tag team match against Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio was pretty fun, too. But there was one big issue.

The Women’s World Champion got pinned. That isn’t ideal, as WWE needs to keep all World Champions as strong as possible. Ripley could have earned a rematch against Morgan in another way instead of beating her clean.

Dirty Dom could have taken the fall instead. After all, he did get squashed by Priest after SmackDown went off the air this week. The big payoff for The Punisher is a match against Finn Balor, so it would have been fine if Mysterio got pinned at Bash in Berlin.

#1. Worst: Save us, Roman!

Don’t get us wrong; Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens had a brilliant match to kick off Bash in Berlin. It may have even been the best one on the card. However, the issue lies with what happened after the finish. KO teased a heel turn during the match but ended up hugging The American Nightmare after losing.

Owens’ recent hunger needs to continue, potentially leading to a heel turn. However, we may instead get a rematch between Rhodes and Solo Sikoa. Michael Cole mentioned it on commentary, but WWE has better options than to pit the two against each other again.

For starters, a rematch with Kevin Owens sounds so much better for Cody Rhodes than more Bloodline drama. Does this mean Roman Reigns isn’t coming back anytime soon?

#1. Best: Strapped in

As good as the entire show was, CM Punk’s Strap Match against Drew McIntyre was the best part of Bash in Berlin. It was gritty and violent, as the hatred boiled over in a beautiful way. Both men couldn’t get their hands off each other, except when the leather strap was involved.

McIntyre nearly clobbered Punk and looked great before The Best in the World rallied. He hit the GTS multiple times as he made his way to every corner of the ring to earn the win. CM Punk even got his bracelet back, doubling the sweet taste of victory.

This was a hard-hitting masterpiece that didn’t give everything away. Punk and Drew McIntyre still have one place left to go following Bash in Berlin: Hell.
