Will Scottie Scheffler win the FedEx Cup to cap off an incredible year

With six victories prior to July 1st, Green Jacket No. 2, back-to-back Players Championships, four of the eight Signature Events, and an Olympic gold medal in 2024 Paris, this season has been historic for him.

Not to mention the season’s revenues of $29,228,357. The final flourish? This year, the former Texas Longhorn also became a father.

Scheffler, who is placed first in the FedEx Cup standings, is making his third consecutive appearance in the Tour Championship. But in the last two years, he has lost the championship against Viktor Hovland in 2023 and Rory McIlroy in 2022.

The 28-year-old hasn’t recovered from the FedEx Cup season finale, despite his contentions.

Is Scheffler going to be able to win for a seventh time and end the 2024 PGA Tour season with a bonus of $25 million? As they say, the third time is lucky.

Scheffler placed T-33 at the BMW Championship and solo fourth at the FedEx St. Jude Championship heading into this week.

Even if he wasn’t playing at his best in Memphis, he managed to compete. Scheffler appeared to be having back issues at the second playoff event, which may have contributed to his second-worst season finish of T-41 at the U.S. Open.

What do you think? All the signs point to his being this week’s favourite. Will Scheffler succeed and turn this PGA Tour season into one of the greatest ever?

Watch this space for a more thorough explanation of my reasoning for believing Scheffler can overcome and prevail.
