Sha’Carri Richardson learns painful Noah Lyles lesson by dropping cryptic hint

Track sensation Sha’Carri Richardson seems to be taking numerous precautions to make sure she doesn’t suffer the same fate as Noah Lyles, who tested positive for COVID-19 a few weeks before the men’s 200m final at the Olympics in Paris.

Richardson posted a selfie from the airport to social media on Monday, showing off her black surgical facemask and hood. Later on, the 24-year-old uploaded a another picture of herself at home sans a mask.

Richardson may be attempting to maintain his health while preparing for future Diamond League appearances by using a face mask in public. Lyles discovered the hard way how difficult it is to compete in inclement weather back in Paris.

With a time of 19.70 seconds, Lyles took home the bronze in the 200m, which is frequently regarded as his finest event, earlier this month. Letsile Tebogo of Botswana won gold in 19.46 seconds, setting an African record; American Kenny Bednarek claimed silver in 19.62 seconds.

At Stade de France, Lyles lost his breath and went down on all fours moments after crossing the finish line. The 27-year-old made an attempt to leave on his own, but he quickly fell back down to one knee and needed to be helped out of a wheelchair.

After the race, Lyles told reporters that he had tested positive for COVID earlier in the week. “I was just in a terrible mood. Wearing a mask, he remarked, “I knew it was more than simply being hurting from the 100.” “I tested when I woke up the doctors, and sadly the results were positive.
