Following the Olympic Games in Paris, Simone Biles told the story of an unexpected encounter she had at a bar. The incident allegedly happened following her spectacular performance to earn three gold and one silver medal at the Bercy Arena.
In a video posted to TikTok, Biles disclosed during her makeup routine that she had visited a nightclub on August 11 following her attendance at the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris. She said that when the club said that a bottle of champagne cost $26,000, she was shocked.
Although Biles did not purchase the drink, she expressed disbelief that the club was asking for such an outrageous sum. She also admitted that she occasionally regrets being famous and that she wishes she could lead a regular life to escape these kinds of situations.
“The Olympics had closing ceremonies. I went, and then we headed out. I was trying to get charged $26,000 for a bottle of champagne by this club, you guys. Like, are you really that crazy?” stated Biles.
“I obviously didn’t believe it. But why even try to manipulate me in that way? That is really amazing. I don’t know, sometimes I’d prefer not to receive attention. I would just like to be as typical as possible. I’m not sure,” she continued.
The 23-time world champion said in the video that she would be seeing her husband, quarterback Jonathan Owens, play for the Chicago Bears against the Bengals. 27-3 was the Bears’ victory.
The 27-year-old, who is preparing for her Gold Over America Tour, which kicks off on September 16, was unsure of how many Bears games she would see.
“We go on tour in a few weeks, so I’m not sure how many games I’ll be able to make. As of right moment, I believe the tour is covering roughly 32 destinations,” the woman remarked.
