Utah State Gymnastics coach Gracie Kramer wins hearts as she tries Simone Biles’ tumbling pass

Recently, Gracie Kramer performed tumbling passes that brought to mind Simone Biles’ routine. These were a few of the tumbling passes that Biles demonstrated at the Olympics in Paris in 2024.

The video shows Kramer, who is currently a volunteer assistant coach at Utah State, doing these flips at her own gymnastics facility. The 26-year-old turned the tumbling track into a pit, though, just to be safe. In order to provide a safe landing surface for performing difficult feats, a padded pit was installed in place of the lengthy gymnastics mat.

Inspired by Simone Biles’s talents, Kramer posted a video to her 374K-subscriber YouTube account showing off these tumbling passes. You can watch the video below, which is appropriately named “Training Like an Olympic Gymnast”:

Here’s what Kramer said after attempting the tumbling pass for the first time (1:40 onwards):

“Oh my god. Why did I close my eyes? That was terrifying. I whipped that back so hard and I closed my eyes the whole time. That’s my toxic trait is with double flipping. I literally go like this terrible tactic. I’m going to try once more.”

After doing it for the second time, the former UCLA Bruins women’s gymnastics team member said,

“Okay, thank god. My eyes were open on the set and then I closed my eyes. Then, I opened them again and I think I gave myself a concussion. I smacked my head so hard.”

Notably, this was the first time Kramer attempted such challenging tumbles, flips, and twists. The video has garnered praise from fans, who have appreciated her courage and dedication to mastering these impressive skills.

In addition to her coaching career, Gracie Kramer has become a sports influencer on Instagram, where she has 423K followers. Having competed for the UCLA Bruins for a substantial period, she announced her retirement from competitive gymnastics in 2020.

From battling Twisties in Tokyo to winning three golds in Paris, Simone Biles’ sensational redemption

Due to the “Twisties,” a mental block disorder that gymnasts frequently experience, Simone Biles was forced to withdraw from multiple events at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, which were contested in 2021. A sense of separation between the body and intellect is a feature of this illness.

The 27-year-old, however, made a spectacular comeback at the Paris Olympics by taking home three gold medals in the women’s vault, team all-around, and solo all-around competitions. This came after she took a well-earned vacation after the Tokyo Olympics.

She also won silver in the women’s floor exercise competition. Simone Biles has already collected 11 Olympic medals during her career at the Summer Games.
