“Carlos Alcaraz is always kicking Novak Djokovic’s a**” – Legendary boxer Mike Tyson says he didn’t believe Serb could beat Spaniard at Paris Olympics

The great boxer Mike Tyson stated that he didn’t think Novak Djokovic could beat Carlos Alcaraz in the Olympic final in Paris in 2024. The American has a deep bond with the Serb and has been a long-time tennis fan.

Djokovic wasn’t the favourite to win the gold medal match in Paris earlier in the month. He hadn’t won a title all season and was dealing with a knee problem. Due to his incredible form, Alcaraz, his opponent, was the clear favourite.To win the gold, the 24-time Grand Slam champion overcame the Spaniard 7-6(3), 7-6(2), despite the odds. This was his second Olympic medal; he had taken home a bronze in Beijing in 2008.

Mike Tyson disclosed that he has been watching tennis attentively lately, with Novak Djokovic being his favourite player, during an appearance on the most recent episode of Logan Paul’s “Impaulsive” podcast. After that, Tyson talked about how Carlos Alcaraz posed a serious threat to the Belgrade native, particularly at the Olympics in Paris, saying, “Djokovic, Djokovic is the man” (at 33:05). “Listen, I didn’t imagine he would lose to Djokovic at the Olympics.” He consistently gives Djokovic the boot. I’m so f***ing angry about it.”

Milan, Tyson’s daughter, plays tennis and is inspired by the great Serena Williams. She also has her father’s love of the game. When the 16-year-old was nine years old, she even got the chance to practise with Djokovic on a trip to Indian Wells.

In 2024, Novak Djokovic will win gold at the Olympics in Paris. “I’ve never felt anything better on a tennis court than this.”

Following his victory over Carlos Alcaraz in the gold medal match at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, Novak Djokovic addressed with the media. The Serbian said he was “prouder and happier” to be among the select few athletes who had accomplished this kind of feat for their nations.

 

Djokovic said, “I couldn’t be happier or more proud.” Playing for Serbia has always been my first objective and my greatest source of pleasure. Being one of the select few athletes who have succeeded in winning gold for their nations in their different sports makes me incredibly proud.”

“I was so privileged to win everything pretty much there is to win in my sport,” the 37-year-old continued, “but this is something different.” This surpasses all the emotions I’ve ever had on the tennis court following large trophy victories. It’s just utterly delightful.”

From now on, Djokovic and Alcaraz will concentrate on the US Open, which takes place from August 26 to September 8. The former is the current champion, and the latter won the tournament in 2022 to earn his first Grand Slam victory.
