Samoa will still be tough despite off field issues: Byrne

For Manu Samoa, the Flying Fijians must be prepared despite their current difficulties.

Samoa’s financial difficulties forced them to cancel their trip of the Northern Hemisphere.

Not only that, but management also let go of Samoan legend Brian Lima’s contract as the national 7s coach.

Coach Mick Byrne of the Flying Fijians argues that the team needs to be prepared for the rage that might occasionally be generated by these off-field difficulties.

“I believe that a lot of problems arise off the field throughout my time in the game, but none of that counts when players show up on game day.”

At 6 p.m. on Friday, the Flying Fijians take on Samoa in their Pacific Nations Cup debut at Suva’s HFC Bank Stadium.
