Will Novak Djokovic win his 25th Slam at the US Open?

Novak Djokovic’s season was very disappointing until the Paris Olympics, when he realized one of his biggest dreams. The Serbian champion has not won an ATP title this year and is seriously threatened to end 2024 without winning a Grand Slam title.

The US Open is the sole opportunity for the former world number one to avoid this risk, although his fees have increased significantly since taking home the gold at the Olympics in Paris. Fans saw the best Nole again in the final versus Carlos Alcaraz on the legendary Philippe Chatrier, which had not been seen in a long time (perhaps from the 2023 ATP Finals).

The 24-time Grand Slam champion had never been successful in prior Games editions, but he had always dreamed of taking home the gold for his nation. Tokyo 2020 appeared to be his final opportunity to accomplish this dream, but Novak once again astonished everyone.

Djokovic is taking a break.

A bold move ahead of the US Open, the 37-year-old from Belgrade has decided to skip the Masters 1000 in Cincinnati and Montreal. The Serbian will travel to New York without having played any games on the hard court, in addition to losing the 1,000 points he won in Ohio the previous year.

With a drive that defies reason, Novak Djokovic is unquestionably the best tennis player of all time, having smashed every record. In an extensive interview with “Tennis Magazin,” Nikola Pilic discussed Djokovic’s legacy, saying, “To Alcaraz and Sinner, Novak, the old master, is just still a different calibre.” He has won five times for World Sportsman of the Year, and I don’t mean to seem biassed.

It was determined by impartial bodies; that is not my own opinion. That is really unique and speaks for itself. In a year or two, Sinner, Alcaraz, and others will undoubtedly dominate the younger generation. By then, Novak would be 39 years old, and things will have changed from when he was 29.I find this trend to be rather fascinating.

Novak is still at a very high level, which enables him to compete against much younger opponents despite his advanced age of 37. Alexander Bublik, an ATP star, paid homage to Nole by saying, “The issue with Novak is that he plays in an amazing style every time there’s a break ball or something like that.” He knows where you’re going to serve, therefore you can’t serve him properly. In the Davis Cup, I played against him, and the score was 40 to 30 everywhere. It is present everywhere. He returns it back to you in the rear of the court after I gave my finest sliced service at the T?That is absurd.

The Kazakh ace was echoed by Nick Kyrgios, who said, “I couldn’t have served any better. I believe I could have had a successful outcome if I had performed like Rafael Nadal in the Wimbledon final. He is unique. Thirty is how many finals he has? My first final was the one. He was therefore unfazed by the encounter. He is excellent.”

Nole will contest the win in New York.

Even if Andy Murray and Roger Federer have retired, Novak has been able to find new energy, while Rafael Nadal’s career appears to be coming to an end. It is Djokovic’s intention to continue competing for a few more years. The Serbian Olympian reiterated his desire to play in Los Angeles in 2028 at the festivities in Belgrade in honour of his win.

It will be extremely difficult for the 24-time Grand Slam champion to stay at the top for another four years. The LA 2028 Olympics will begin when Nole is 41 years old. “This is the fulfilment of a childhood ambition for me; the pressure to win the gold was intense because I had almost everything.” Let’s celebrate—I feel complete and fulfilled! Djokovic stated at the event. I’ll do my best to travel to Los Angeles. Yes, please.”Representing Serbia at the Olympic Games is the greatest pleasure,” he continued.

The former American ace lauded Djokovic during the most recent episode of the podcast “Served with Andy Roddick,” saying, “I haven’t seen Novak so emotional in a long time.” His body shook after winning his seventh Wimbledon match instead of that emotion. You ought to give up on sports permanently if you are unable to appreciate that. Respect is what matters to me; popularity is not important. If you’re a tennis fan who is pursuing Novak on Twitter, you have no business watching tennis. You’re not good enough.

Among the favourites in the US Open will be the 37-year-old from Belgrade, along with Jannik Sinner, Daniil Medvedev, Alexander Zverev, and Carlos Alcaraz. In New York, the bookies rank the Spaniard as the clear favourite over the Italian and Serbian.
