Kansas City Chiefs WR Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown injures shoulder in preseason opener

Marquise “Hollywood” Brown, a receiver for the Kansas City Chiefs, left Saturday’s 26–13 preseason loss against the Jacksonville Jaguars with what appeared to be a dislocated shoulder.

On Kansas City’s opening offensive play of the match, Brown was hurt. He caught it for eleven yards.

Following the game, Chiefs coach Andy Reid stated that Brown was being evaluated for a possible sternoclavicular joint dislocation.

Reid stated, “They took him to the hospital, and they will check him out.”

As a free agent in the offseason, Brown joined Kansas City. He signed a $7 million, one-year contract.

During his 14 games with the Arizona Cardinals last season, 27-year-old Brown had 51 receptions for 574 yards and four touchdowns.

The Baltimore Ravens selected Brown with the 25th overall pick in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft. In his final season with the Ravens in 2021, he set career highs with 91 receptions and 1,008 yards.

After the season, he was traded, and the Cardinals acquired him for the following two seasons. In 72 games (65 starts), he has 313 career catches for 3,644 yards and 28 touchdowns.
