Ex US gymnast MyKayla Skinner begs taunting Simone Biles to call off cruel attacks

MyKayla Skinner, a former American gymnast, has implored Simone Biles to stop her nasty taunts.

Amidst the pair’s feud, she has been pleading with her supporters to stop the death threats and cyberbullying. The former athlete discussed the trolling she had been subjected to in a video that she posted on social media.

MyKayla said on Instagram that she and her family had received death threats in the last few days. “I truly thought that this matter wouldn’t have to be rehashed, but sadly, things have gotten pretty out of hand lately,” the woman stated. Thus, I am pleading with you, Simone, to end this immediately and in public.”

When Skinner questioned the US gymnastics team, the two gymnasts got into a fight. “Aside from Simone, I feel that the skill and the depth just isn’t like what it used to be,” she stated in an interview.

Following the team’s victory as the Olympic all-around winners, Biles posted a picture to Instagram with the remark, “lack of talent, lazy, olympic champions.” Since then, Skinner has claimed that cyberbullies have targeted her.

MyKayla provided an explanation of the circumstances, saying, “I’m here because, four weeks ago, I made a comment about work ethic and what seems to be happening with the growing generation,” in reference to Skinner’s statement at the beginning of her Instagram video. “I accept full responsibility for my poor articulation of the argument I was attempting to express,” she said. I really didn’t want to hurt or disrespect our US Olympic team. These women are amazing, the greatest of the best, as far as I’m aware. And nearly all of them were my previous teammates, whom I have had great pleasure in supporting over the past few years.

“I sent individual texts to every woman on the squad and apologised in writing after posting a video apology on Instagram. Simone was the only one who replied, and she told me she was proud of me. You can only imagine how shocked I was last week, when I was celebrating our team’s gold medal, to have the same topic brought up repeatedly by an Instagram post title.”

“I am genuinely heartbroken over it,” the woman continued, “if Simone honestly believes that I termed our team sluggish and lacking talent and that’s how she really feels. But since that’s not how I feel, I’m not simply heartbroken… however I’m devastated because Simone’s most recent [social media] post and those that followed it sparked a new surge of hostile emails, articles, DMs, and comments, some of which included threats to kill me, my family, and even my agent.

“My friends and family shouldn’t have to be the victims of this situation. They have not taken any action. Thus, I am pleading with you, Simone, to end this immediately and in public. Kindly request that your followers cease. A lot of people are in need of your assistance right now, and you have been an amazing advocate for mental health awareness.

“I’m positive you never intended for us to be assaulted and damaged in the manner we have. During your performance, the team’s performance, and the Olympics overall, we should encourage and support one another as well as our nation. I hope we can move on, forward, and support the remaining teammates and athletes as a team because I love our nation and our squad.”
