Bills QB Josh Allen again opens up about Stefon Diggs trade

Josh Allen, the quarterback for the Buffalo Bills, stated that he will “always have a spot in my heart” for star wide receiver Stefon Diggs, adding that he will “always love him like a brother and wish him nothing but the best” shortly after the Bills dealt Diggs to the Houston Texans this spring.

After training camp on Wednesday, Allen addressed Diggs’ departure once more.

Allen stated, “Stef’s a fantastic player, and what he gave to this squad was remarkable,” according to Sports Illustrated’s Kyle Silagyi. “I’m not sure if I would call someone’miss.'” He was a trustworthy man that you could rely on. He is going to drink the juice every single day. He’s definitely bringing it to Houston. You cannot honestly claim not to miss that. However, I am quite pleased with what is happening here and the effort the men have been putting in.”

From January 2023 until the team’s divisional-round playoff loss to the Kansas City Chiefs this past January, which featured a costly fourth-quarter drop by the wideout, concerns regarding Allen and Diggs’ relationship lingered over the Bills.

Although it wasn’t shocking for Buffalo to cut ties with Diggs following the postseason loss, some maintain that the Bills failed to acquire a well-known No. 1 target in Diggs’ place, preferring to hope rookie Keon Coleman and free-agent acquisitions Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Curtis Samuel can virtually replace Diggs’ output.

When asked how Buffalo will go without Diggs, Allen said on Wednesday, “I’m extremely comfortable with the guys that we’ve brought in.” Undoubtedly, Stef was an All-Pro in this situation. He can support it with statistical data. He had more than 100 catches and more than 1,000 yards every year. It would take a lot of work for someone to step in and take those shoes.”

The Bills were classified as the fourth-best betting favourite to represent the AFC in Super Bowl LIX as of Wednesday afternoon at +800 odds by DraftKings Sportsbook. If the Diggs trade turns out to be an addition-by-subtraction deal, the claimed win-now team’s inability to resolve their differences with him may be looked back on as a terrible error.
