NFL promoting Olympic flag football, four years ahead of its debut at L.A. 2028

The NFL is working hard to promote flag football, which will make its Olympic debut in 2028 in Los Angeles, while the Olympics are underway in Paris.

Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts lights the Olympic torch with a blazing football outside the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in a new NFL advertisement.

Hurts addresses the camera, saying, “It’s our turn.”

Though many coaches won’t want their players competing in Los Angeles as training camps open, the NFL, which is enthusiastic about promoting flag football, will undoubtedly encourage players to play and market the sport to the world. Several NFL players have stated that they want to be on the Olympic flag football team.

Olympic flag football is coming, coaches like it or not, and the NFL sees it as a huge opportunity to promote American football to a global audience.
