The 2024 Paris Olympics are officially five days old, and while fans have already seen fantastic performances from Team USA in women’s gymnastics that have featured a team gold medal, there’s still much more in store.
Even though the seasoned Team USA has finished its team competition, spectators will still have the opportunity to witness American gymnasts Simone Biles, Suni Lee, and others build upon an already impressive résumé.

Many, including Biles, dubbed it the “redemption tour” following the 2020 Tokyo squad, which had many of the same athletes, taking home silver instead of gold.
However, their first gold medal is just the start of what this team may achieve in Paris. The individual all-around final, balancing beam final, uneven bars final, vault final, and floor exercise final are the five events left to watch.
For the first time, two all-around gold medallists will face off in the all-around final, and Biles and Lee are poised to create history in the individual all-around competition.
The “two-per-country” rule in Olympic gymnastics states that only two gymnasts from each nation are permitted to compete in each final.

The only female American to make it to the uneven bars final was Lee. Lee is a medal contender in what is usually regarded as one of her greatest events. She won the bronze in the event in the Tokyo Olympics in 2020. Making the podium in the uneven bars final is one of Lee’s main objectives, she stated prior to the Games.
Biles lost by tenths of a point in the uneven bars finals. Since she qualified for the race in ninth position, she is regarded as a “reserve athlete.”

In the balancing beam final, Biles and Lee will compete against one other once more. The last event in the women’s gymnastics competition this Olympics will be the floor exercise final. Chiles and Biles have both made the cut.
Carey earned the gold medal in the floor exercise competition after Biles had to withdraw from the 2020 Games after winning the competition in 2016. Carey had an unusual fall in the qualifiers, which kept him from competing in the Olympics this year. She had been battling a sickness during the Games, it was later learnt.
Chiles scored well enough to secure the second seed in the final following Carey’s defeat. Throughout the Games thus far, Chiles’ Beyonce-inspired floor routine has consistently drawn large crowds.
