C.J. Stroud describes Texans’ offense as ‘Five-head monster’

The Houston Texans made waves last season in the first year of DeMeco Ryans’s tenure by winning 10 regular season games, along with a playoff game, for the first time since 2019.

Quarterback C.J. Stroud took the league by storm as he threw for over 4,000 yards, 23 touchdowns, and just five interceptions.

He set many league and franchise rookie records en route to being named the NFL’s Rookie of the Year and a Pro-Bowler.

The organization has decided to take advantage of this great start to Stroud’s career by adding a few more weapons to the offensive arsenal this offseason in All-Pro receiver Stefon Diggs and Pro Bowl running back Joe Mixon.

Stroud loves what he has to work with on offense.

“It’s a five-headed monster. It’s definitely super dope to have just a bunch of options,” the former Ohio State Buckeye recently told the Houston media after the first day of training camp practices.

Not only did the Texans add Diggs and Mixon this offseason, but they already had a 1,200-yard receiver in Nico Collins and a rising star in Tank Dell, whose fantastic rookie season was cut short due to injury.

Tight end Dalton Schultz, who can stretch the field, also averaged a career-best 10.8 yards per reception in 15 games played last year.

There is no doubt that this team has plenty of talent and options on offense.

If they can tap into what they did last year and with the help of Diggs and Mixon, perhaps Houston can challenge the likes of Kansas City and Baltimore in the AFC.
