All Blacks named for Flying Fijians Test

This weekend in San Diego, Billy Proctor will play his first Test match for the All Blacks against Fiji.

Proctor is joining his brother Matt in the All Blacks, where he will start as centre for the last game.

In addition to him, the other six uncapped players on matchday 23 are Noah Hotham, Sam Darry, Pasilio Tosi, George Bell, and Wallace Sititi, all reserve players.

After Patrick Tuipulotu stayed in New Zealand and TJ Perenara suffered a leg injury, Darry and Hotham, who had previously been part of the team, joined.

The combination of young athletes and seasoned veterans was highlighted by Captain Scott Barrett and Head Coach Scott Robertson.

Ardie Savea, the vice captain, is still ranked eighth.

In addition to Beauden Barrett and Anton Lienert-Brown, who bring experience to the backline, Damian McKenzie will receive his 50th cap.

After suffering an injury in 2023, Emoni Narawa is back, and Savea is joined in the loose forward trio by Ethan Blackadder and Luke Jacobson.

In 2024, Blackadder and hooker Asafo Aumua make their first Test starts since 2021, along with Caleb Clarke.

The eleventh Test between the All Blacks and Fiji will take place on neutral ground this evening, marking the first one since 1974.

This Saturday at 2:30 p.m., they are scheduled to meet.
