‘I don’t like it’ – Frank Warren calls out Carl Froch for leaking Anthony Joshua texts

Frank Warren wholeheartedly disagrees with the way Carl Froch is handling his feud with Anthony Joshua.

The pair were once friends and used to train together under Rob McCracken when Joshua was an amateur and a young pro, while Froch neared the end of his career.

However, they have been feuding since Joshua split with McCracken in 2021.

In a recent video for his Froch On Fighting YouTube channel, ‘The Cobra’ described an interview Joshua gave: “He was asked, ‘Carl Froch – one word answer.’ And what did he say? He called me a p***k.

“So I went straight back at him like I’d go back at anyone who called me that.”

Froch then proceeded to post screenshots of their WhatsApp exchange and a video AJ sent him.

The former super middleweight champion insists he has only leaked 10 per cent of the messages he’s received from Joshua, which he referred to as a ‘barrage of abuse’.

Warren doesn’t like the fact Froch is putting private conversations in the public domain.

“I don’t like it,” he said when asked about Froch’s antics on talkSPORT Drive.

“If I’ve got a private row going on between me and you, I don’t believe you should be showing any videos or messages I send to you and vice versa.

“I think that’s between the two parties. I don’t think Carl should be doing that, but he’s done it.”

The 72-year-old Hall of Fame boxing promoter believes Froch has leaked Joshua’s messages to stay in the limelight.

Warren added: “Carl’s trying to make himself relevant on social media now that his boxing career is over.

“He had a very, very good career, except he kept dodging Joe Calzaghe. Other than that, he had a great career.

“AJ is still fighting, still relevant and he’s on a string of good wins. Let AJ get on with his fight. I don’t know why he wants to keep digging him out.”

Joshua is currently preparing to face Daniel Dubois for the IBF heavyweight title at Wembley Stadium on September 21.

The winner will move on to a potential undisputed rematch with whoever emerges victorious from Oleksandr Usyk vs Tyson Fury II on December 21.

Froch retired from boxing in 2014 and has since become a pundit.
