WWE breaks social media record by smashing 58-year-old legend through a table

WWE fans are still applauding Friday night’s segment that saw Paul Heyman smashed through a table, with social media figures through the roof for the clip.

The long-running Bloodline saga has been widely heralded as one of the best wrestling storylines in the modern era.

Solo Sikoa has charged forward with a new-look Bloodline since WrestleMania

Solo Sikoa has charged forward with a new-look Bloodline since WrestleMania.

Topping screens for much of the last three years, the story began with Roman Reigns and his Wise Man, Paul Heyman, before The Usos, Sami Zayn, Solo Sikoa and even Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson joined the action over the period that followed.

Rock flanked Reigns and co heading into this year’s WrestleMania in Philadelphia, adding an all-new dimension to the saga as Reigns, the Tribal Chief, finally fell at the hands of Cody Rhodes.

Reigns hasn’t been seen on WWE television since, but his return is hotly anticipated thanks to the actions of those who were left behind – and those who’ve since joined.

The latest twist in the tale has seen Sikoa assume the role of Tribal Chief, drafting in Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa and Jacob Fatu to boost numbers.

This new-look, upstart Bloodline has run roughshod through most of WWE, but the compelling drama has yet to see Heyman truly accept the new Head of the Table.

That all came to a head on SmackDown last week as Sikoa demanded Heyman ‘acknowledge’ him, something the former ECW supremo simply refused to do.

His loyalties still closely aligned to the absent Reigns, Heyman paid the price as the Bloodline duly attacked, nailing him with finishing moves in the ring before spilling to the outside.

In an horrific scene, the legendary manager was then hoisted in the are and driven through a ringside commentary table, landing in a heap on the floor.

Fans praised the commitment of the veteran Manager after such a brutal scene

Fans praised the commitment of the veteran Manager after such a brutal scene.

Heyman’s commitment to the storyline was commended by fans, who are now itching for Heyman’s beloved Reigns to come back and exact revenge.

“Roman’s return is going to hit…,” said one post on X. “Paul will never abandon his true tribal chief.”

Another said: “That moment in the future when Roman’s music hits for the first time back is gonna go so hard.”

Praising the veteran for the way he took the impact, another user commented: “thought someone would save him but lmao he really took that bump.”

Looking ahead, another noted: “The bloodline story is just the most cinematic thing that WWE has ever written.

“When Roman comes back, the crowd is going to lose it. OG Blood vs New Blood.”

The scene of absolute chaos has gone down such a storm on social media that WWE smashed its own record for a post-WrestleMania show clip.

The company say that, across all of its social media platforms, no content from Raw, SmackDown or NXT since the April spectacle has garnered more than the 60 million+ views the Heyman clip has gathered.

Friday’s show was an impressive one all around, with Logan Paul joined by The New York Knicks’ Jalen Brunson and Indiana Pacers’ Tyrese Haliburton as the two rivals stared one another down either side of Paul’s match against Santos Escobar and LA Knight.

The NBA greats looked set to square off before Paul and Haliburton withdrew.
