In the summer of 2025, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are reportedly in the running to sign Florian Wirtz, a Bayer Leverkusen attacker

Joao Palhinha is Bayern Munich’s #1 target this summer as they look to bolster their midfield. Palhinha is the best player, in the Bavarian club’s opinion, to start at number six in the starting lineup. On the day of the deadline last summer, Bayern attempted to sign the Portuguese midfield player.

For the past three weeks, Die Roten have been in negotiations with Fulham regarding Palhinha. After reaching a consensus with Vincent Kompany over the necessity of acquiring a defensive midfield player, they made the decision to rekindle their interest in Palhinha.

Bayern Munich made two bids for Palhinha this summer, but Fulham turned them down. The Portuguese midfielder is wanted by the Premier League team for a price that is closer to €65 million. Bayern had agreed to pay this transfer fee on the deadline day of the previous summer, but they are unwilling to pay the same figure this year.

The all-time Bundesliga Champions will offer €46 million as their final offer for Palhinha. Die Roten and the Portuguese midfielder have already reached a personal agreement. In an interview with German media (via Sky Sports), Palhinha pushed Fulham to approve his transfer to Munich.

Regarding my future, both clubs are aware of my desired location in a month. Right now, my focus is on working with the national team and creating history for my nation.”

– Palhinha, Joao

Palhinha won’t have to wait for Bayern to arrive all summer. They are hoping for a diplomatic breakthrough as soon as possible. After losing out on a summer deal to Munich, the Portuguese midfield player is eager to complete the transfer. His statements in the media could strengthen Die Roten’s argument for a speedy resolution of the transfer.

If the Bavarian team is unable to persuade Fulham in regards to Joao Palhinha, they have other options for the defensive midfield position. Amadou Onana of Everton is one of the midfield players Bayern is hoping to sign this summer. They are also intrigued by Manuel Ugarte of Paris Saint-Germain.

Palhinha will be hoping that by the end of the Euros, Bayern doesn’t need to consider other midfield targets. The Portuguese midfielder’s desire to finalise the trade gives Die Roten significant negotiating leverage. Palhinha’s age and elite level experience make Bayern’s final offer a reasonable appraisal of the midfield player.

Bayern Munich advances in their acquisition of Jonathan Tah

Bayern hopes to finalise Michael Olise’s transfer elsewhere after reaching a financial agreement with Crystal Palace. The Bavarian team is also eager to get Xavi Simons to bolster the assault. They have begun talks with Paris Saint-Germain on a loan agreement that will entail obligations for the attacking midfield player from the Netherlands. Bayern and Bayer Leverkusen are still in negotiations with Jonathan Tah. Negotiations with the Bundesliga Champions have advanced since the initial offer for the German defender was turned down.
