Former Premier League club chief claims Spurs star is worth £100 million and will sign a new two-year contract

Even though Son is now in his thirties, a former Premier League club executive believes the Spurs star is still worth “about” £100 million, and they have projected that Son would sign a new two-year contract.

At Spurs, Heung-min Son is still going strong.

Over the past ten years, Heung-Min Son has solidified his status as a Tottenham legend by improving to the point where he regularly scores more than ten goals in the league.

Even after Harry Kane left the team in the summer, Son stayed on and was given the captaincy by Postecoglou, the new manager.

The former Everton manager, who is currently an elite club consultant, signed a four-year contract with the South Korean international in 2021, but that deal is almost up. Keith Wyness has stated that he anticipates Tottenham offering his captain a two-year extension to stay in London.

Son, who will soon turn 32, was allegedly a target for Saudi Arabian teams last season, but the player himself said he was living his “dream” as a Premier League player with Spurs (Reuters).

Saudi teams are reportedly still “interested,” according to ongoing rumours of a potential Saudi move.

“Tottenham will wish to bind him for a another two years.”

The 31-year-old made 35 league appearances this season, contributing 27 goals to the score. a figure that was far more in line with the standard Son had set for himself after a disappointing season previously.

Despite calling it a “very bad season,” expert Wyness nevertheless assessed the forward’s value at “around the £100 million range.”

According to Wyness, “I do think they’ll boost his pay, but I don’t think it will be a large rise,” in an interview with the Football Insider podcast. According to the former Everton manager, Son will play for Spurs until he is almost 34 years old on a “two-year contract.”

The club claimed back in March that “talks are ongoing” having began in 2023 with the intention of “taking the next stage in negotiations” regarding a new contract for Tottenham’s star forward, who was forced into a striker role for part of the season.

As the present captain continues to age into his thirties, I believe that practically every single Tottenham fan will be glad to have Son stay around at Tottenham for the following seasons, in whatever capacity that may evolve to be.

Even though Son was usually painfully lost in games when used as a striker, it was still a good season in terms of numbers. Next season, though, could see Son return to his best self with Richarlison healthy and perhaps even the addition of a new center-forward.
