Arsenal face late returns for Rice and Saka after Euro 2024 matchup

There have been some amazing moments of drama at the European Championships, as well as some underwhelming performances, especially from England and France. After the group stage is over and the knockout stages begin, Arsenal is keeping a close eye on the proceedings with a number of players still competing.

Spain will play Georgia; Germany, led by Kai Havertz, will play Denmark; France, led by William Saliba, will play Belgium; and England, with Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka, will play Slovakia. The main prayer will be that none of them get hurt, but if they go farther in the competition, the sooner they’ll all be back at Arsenal.

The Gunners’ preseason tour of the United States will begin on July 21 when they depart. Their match against Manchester United is presently set for July 28 in Los Angeles at Stan Kroenke’s SoFi Stadium. On August 1, they will play Liverpool in Philadelphia; however, the opponent, time, and location are still to be confirmed.

With just Italy and the Netherlands in the top 10 of FIFA’s rankings, England has an extremely advantageous draw going into the Euros. Italy might play England in the quarterfinals, while England could play the Netherlands in the semifinals. On the opposing side of the draw are Portugal, Germany, Spain, France, and Belgium.

Naturally, this indicates that it is anticipated that Saka and Rice will remain in Germany for an extended period of time. That is, of course, assuming England’s lacklustre performances stop and they find a way to eliminate Slovakia in the round of 16.

Germany will play this Saturday at 8 p.m. UK time in the round of sixteen. England kicks off at 5 p.m. on Sunday, followed by Spain at 8 p.m., and France vs. Belgium on Monday at 5 p.m. The semi-finals are scheduled for July 9–10, and the quarterfinals are scheduled for July 5–6.

On July 14, the Euros final will take place. Given England’s favourable draw, it is possible that Rice, Saka, and Aaron Ramsdale will miss the first trip to the United States due to their prolonged vacation.

Arsenal’s first five games of the season are away at Aston Villa, Tottenham, and Manchester City, making for an extremely difficult start for the team. This is why the club is so interested in the summer tournaments: they want to make sure that current roster and any prospective new players are ready.
