Carl Froch makes offer to Jake Paul ahead of YouTuber’s next fight

Carl Froch has offered to buy a ticket to Jake Paul’s next fight, but only if he combs back his long hair.

Paul will take on Mike Perry on 20 July in what is the replacement bout to the YouTuber’s previously scheduled clash with Mike Tyson. That fight has been pushed back to November after Tyson suffered a stomach ulcer flare-up.

Paul had considered waiting for Tyson to recover before returning the ring, but he has since decided to agree to face Perry, a bare-knuckle boxing champion. Perry only has one professional boxing win under his belt.

His opponent meanwhile has nine wins and one loss during his boxing career. Froch has now jokingly offered to buy a ticket himself, though set Paul a condition in exchange.

Froch tweeted: “Comb your hair back so we can see your forehead, and I’ll buy a ticket.” The former WBC super-middleweight world champion was replying to a post Paul made of the poster promoting his fight with Perry.

In the poster, Paul’s fringe covers his forehead as he glares up at the camera. He will take on Perrry at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida, with the fight expected to begin between 4am and 5am UK time.

Perry has previously acted as Paul’s sparring partner, last doing so three years ago. And the YouTuber believes that facing the UFC star is the perfect preparation for his rescheduled clash against Tyson.

Jake Paul has spoken out

Paul will take on Mike Perry on 20 July.

“As I prepare for my fight against Iron Mike, there’s no better opponent for me than Mike Perry. He’s a proven knockout artist who has shown to be a maniac in and out of the ring,” Paul said.

“This is the perfect experience for me to gain in advance of facing Mike Tyson. Those who know me know I’m a risk taker and while ‘Platinum’ Perry might try to end me, I’m Jake Paul and I fear no man.”

Perry meanwhile is confident of inflicting just the second defeat of Paul’s boxing career. He insisted that he will ensure that Paul sees he has made the ‘worst mistake of his life’ by choosing to face him.

“Jake Paul claims he fears no man, but on Saturday, July 20, the world will see the truth: he just made the worst mistake of his life in trying to get through me before Iron Mike,” Perry added.

“I’m going to make it look easy and I’m going to teach Jake Paul the most he’s ever learned about fighting.”
