‘Me and Mike Perry are going to make Tampa roar’… Jake Paul announces huge fight as Mike Tyson bout postponed

Jake Paul and Mike Perry will finally settle their differences on July 20, with the BKFC superstar stepping in to keep the YouTube star busy.

‘The Problem Child’ was looking forward to going toe-to-toe with the boxing legend in front of 80,000 spectators at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, USA.

However, at the age of 57, the former world champion’s health took a turn for the worse, with an ulcer flare-up aboard a plane, giving Netflix no choice but to reschedule the bout until November 15.

Jake Paul vs Mike Perry announced for huge boxing match on July 20

While the postponment of Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson has rendered some fans disappointed, we undeniably have a much more competitive fight on our hands.

With just over a month until the blockbuster event, Mike Perry will step up to the plate to give the world a battle, which on paper, has all the ingredients of an absolute barnburner.

With a potential 21,500 fans able to fit into the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida the combat sports veteran will put it all on the line to give the MMA community the victory they so desperately crave.

While slightly smaller than the controversial YouTuber, ‘Platinum’ is undeniably a step up from the previous UFC fighters Paul has set foot in the ring with.

Unlike the rest, Perry doesn’t specialize in wrestling, nor is he far past the peak of his powers. On the contrary, the warrior is currently enjoying the greatest form of his life, picking up victories in BKFC (Bare-Knuckle Fighting Championships) over Luke Rockhold and Eddie Alvarez.

Possessing heavy hands and an ferocious will to absorb every punch thrown in his direction and keep on fighting, outside of Tommy Fury, the 32-year-old undeniably presents the toughest test of Paul’s career. And with so much history between the pair, Perry can’t wait to settle the grudge.

Jake Paul and Mike Perry will finally go head-to-head

To hype the fight, the social media star posted a cheeky rhyme: “One Mike, two Mikes, three Mikes, four. The fact is every opponent has touched the floor. Five months until Tyson and I go to war, So in the meantime, me & Perry are going to make Tampa roar.

“I fear no man, anytime, anywhere, anyplace. On July 20, it’s going to be another W, so let us say grace for the BKFC champ, who will take a knee. Then, we will go to Ireland and take Conor McGregor’s equity.”

However, while he can joke around on social media, doing so in the ring is a completely different kettle of fish.

Jake Paul and Mike Perry have sparred before in intense training session

In 2021, the pair shared a heated sparring session, in which Paul referred to his rival as ‘light work’. However, Perry professed a completely different story.

On Instagram, he wrote: “I took your best shots and walked you down all day. We all know I’m not hard to hit, but I’m gonna focus on that now.

“You gave me a chance to punch you in the face, and I did. I respected that, but you mistook that, and that’s my fault. I showed up with my girl and my baby, so I didn’t bring drama. I show up and fight. I was a fan after you sparred me.

“You showed heart, and you’re already successful and you seem to have a good team (strength in numbers). But you’re a spoiled brat, and I’m rich in life.

“You’re broke with a bunch of fake yes men around you that you pay for. I don’t f**k with nobody, and all the money in the world can’t make you real like me.
