Saudi Arabia offers Manchester City star an incredible £38 million-a-year contract.

Saudi Arabian officials have put Manchester City’s first-choice custodian Ederson in front of an eye-watering possible £38 million annual remuneration.

Since the end of the previous season, when Ederson suffered many injuries from in-game collisions, the Brazilian international has been extensively linked to an unexpected departure from Etihad Stadium.

Stefan Ortega was consequently given more chances to shine in a Manchester City jersey than he would have thought possible at the beginning of the season, starting in games against teams like Chelsea, Real Madrid, and Liverpool in all competitions.

With his consistent performance in every game and his will to unseat Ederson at the Etihad Stadium, Stefan Ortega may have felt that his chance was just a few weeks away after receiving a new offer from the Middle East.

Manchester City insider “Tolmie’s Hairdoo” on X claims that Ederson, the starting goalie at the Etihad Stadium, has recently received a cash offer from Saudi Arabia that is reportedly worth £740,000 per week.

Due to worries about Ederson’s future, Manchester City has been connected to a number of goalkeepers in recent months, either to fill the number one spot in Pep Guardiola’s squad or to serve as a backup.

Mike Maignan of AC Milan was mentioned as a possible target for the Premier League winners, while there were rumours in Portugal that Manchester City was keeping an eye on FC Porto’s Diogo Costa’s play.

In other news, Manchester City briefly expressed interest in Werder Bremen custodian Michael Zetterer as a backup option. Nevertheless, the German has chosen to stay in the Bundesliga with his current team.
