Tyson Fury has spoken out following his loss to Oleksandr Usyk.

The Gypsy King lost a split decision as Usyk became the Undisputed Heavyweight Champion of the World. It was Fury’s first loss of his career. Before the fight, Fury had picked up every belt. However, he had never been undisputed. The rematch has been scheduled for December 21. There are various question marks heading into the rematch. Fury’s mindset has been questioned for several reasons. After the loss, he felt he had done enough to win.

Despite the split decision, the overwhelming consensus was that Usyk had won by a unanimous decision. Fury also stated that Usyk had been given the win because of the Russian-Ukrainian war. While the Gypsy King may be trying to soften the blow, he must come to terms with the loss if he is to have a chance of winning.

Fury Back In Training

Fury was also spotted getting thrown out by security after he was drunk at a bar in his hometown of Morecambe. This raised huge worries that he may be having a relapse with his mental health and alcohol issues. Those two issues prevented Fury from taking the Wladimir Klitschko rematch. Nevertheless, Fury is now back in training. The following clip show him hitting the heavy bag. He looks in good spirits as he aims to win the rematch.

“The king will reclaim his throne. Usyk I’m coming for you. The path to redemption is all mine. I know what I have to do, I saw my shortcomings, best believe I am inevitable. I’ve done everything in boxing, but I ain’t come back from a loss. I relish the chance to redeem myself. Get up! December 21st is all me. Undisputed here we come,” Fury said

Nevertheless, there is no guarantee that Fury will fight for undisputed. Usyk is required to defend his IBF Belt against Daniel Dubois. Dubois beat Filip Hrgovic to become the IBF Interim Heavyweight Champion. Usyk’s team has applied for an exemption to allow him to keep the belt. The governing bodies now have a decision over what to do. Another loss for Fury may rule out a potential Anthony Joshua fight. British fans have already seen the Deontay Wilder fight with Joshua fall apart.

Fury’s Chances

When the boxers were in their prime, they could not come to an agreement. Regardless, Fury must overcome Usyk first. He will face a tough task, as team Usyk has already reacted to Fury’s training footage. The following post shows Usyk’s promoter, Alex Krassyuk, reacting with a ‘beer’ remark.

In addition, Usyk has already said he has watched the fight back to root out his mistakes. But Roy Jones has given Fury a chance of winning.

“Usyk is favourite for the rematch and now here is the thing – Tyson Fury is a very smart guy and is really good at making adjustments, but Usyk, in my humble opinion, comes through him again. Now that Usyk knows he can hurt and beat Fury, he could now underestimate him in the rematch. But we all know Fury has been knocked down seven times,” Jones said
