Novak Djokovic is working full time on his knee recovery as the Serbian tennis superstar was spotted leaving a clinic in Belgrade and his therapy includes using a hyperbaric oxygen therapy chamber, via Informer.

Last Wednesday, Djokovic had surgery in Paris to clean up his torn right meniscus. Since then, Djokovic has returned home to Belgrade to rehab and recover.

And now, reports from Serbia claim that Djokovic turned to hyperbaric oxygen therapy, a treatment used to speed up healing. Also, the report reveals that Djokovic was spotted limping but that he didn’t need crutches.

Informer also revealed that Djokovic spent around 70 minutes in the hyperbaric oxygen therapy chamber and that he was very outgoing and friendly with medical professionals.

Djokovic said his desire to compete at the highest level keeps him going

Last Thursday, Djokovic confirmed in an Instagram post that the reports of him having a knee procedure were true.

“In the past day, I had to make some tough decisions after sustaining a meniscus tear during my last match. I’m still processing it all but I am happy to update you that the surgery went well,” Djokovic announced last Thursday.

“I am so appreciative of the team of doctors who have been by my side, as well as the overwhelming support I have received from my fans. I’m going to do my best to be healthy and fit to return to the court as soon as possible. My love for this sport is strong and the desire to compete at the highest level is what keeps me going.”

Since Wimbledon is starting on July 1st, the general belief and expectation is that even if Djokovic manages to recover in time, he may decide to skip The Championships because the grass is a very tricky and challenging surface.

However, Djokovic hasn’t yet made any official announcements regarding his Wimbledon participation so the Serb playing there is still a possibility.
