The news that Braga’s Rodrigo Gomes is expected to transfer to Molineux for £12.7 million has heightened Arsenal’s interest in winger Pedro Neto of Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Gomes, a highly regarded 20-year-old winger, is anticipated to visit Wolves later this week for a medical before committing to a long-term contract that will keep him in the Midlands until 2029. During the 2023–24 season, Gomes scored seven goals in thirty league games while on loan at Estoril Praia.

The BBC reports that Wolves have won the race to sign the teenage potential, despite Atletico Madrid keeping a close eye on him. Edu Gaspar, the sporting director of Arsenal, has been keeping an eye on Pedro Neto for a while now.

Edu will probably be happy to hear that Wolves have secured a possible Neto substitute. Wolves’ impending addition of a winger may have an effect on Neto’s future and force Arsenal to move to get the gifted player to the Emirates Stadium, according to Football London.

Neto recorded 11 assists in 24 games this season despite missing 19 games because of two different hamstring problems, demonstrating his effectiveness when healthy. But given his history of injuries, Mikel Arteta might be discouraged from bringing the elite talent to North London.

Neto missed 127 days of the 2022–2023 season due to an ankle ailment, and he missed nearly a year due to a knee injury in 2021. The main player for Wolves, who has a deal through 2027, won’t be let go for cheap, especially after they paid about £18 million to sign him in 2019 after he was released by Lazio.

Is Pedro Neto making his way to Emirates Stadium?

Rumour has it that Arteta and Edu of Arsenal are interested in a number of elite players ahead of the upcoming season, and they are preparing for a busy summer transfer window. Benjamin Sesko, a hotshot from Slovenia who scored 18 goals in 42 games for RB Leipzig the previous season, has been linked to the Gunners.

The 21-year-old is apparently the target of Chelsea, so they will have fierce competition. Another candidate linked to Arsenal is Douglas Luiz, the dynamic midfielder for Aston Villa. However, he is currently enjoying his stay at Villa Park, so it might be difficult to convince Unai Emery to go with him.

They may focus on Amadou Onana or Bruno Guimaraes to strengthen their midfield if they are unable to get the Brazilian. After falling short of winning the Premier League title to Manchester City, the Gunners want to outperform their performance from the previous campaign.
