Brooks Koepka has bragged with a glint in his eye that his ‘swing is never off’ on the eve of yet another title defence at this week’s US PGA Championship.
Koepka, 34, arrives at Valhalla this week off the back of landing a record fourth LIV Golf title in Singapore earlier this month.
The five-time major champion also enters the US PGA following five consecutive rounds in the 60s.
Koepka has played his last two tournaments on the Saudi-bankrolled circuit in 29-under par.
As a result of his form – and yes, the fact he loves a major – Koepka lines up fourth in the betting to defend his title at odds of 16/1.
Scottie Scheffler leads the line at a red-hot 4/1, closely followed by back-to-back PGA Tour winner Rory McIlroy at 6/1.
Xander Schauffele, who is still seeking his first major title and a first win in nearly two years, is next up in the market at 14/1.
But while the leading trio in the odds are all at the top of many people’s lists for the W this week, there are plenty of golf fans once again putting their faith in LIV Golf superstar and defending champion Koepka to get the job done on Sunday night.
The former World No.1 has etched his name on the famed Wanamaker Trophy three times following wins in 2018, 2019 and 2023.
He also has two US Open victories to his name, coming in back-to-back years in 2017 and 2018.

After a disappointing start to his major season with a T45 at The Masters last month, Koepka admitted he ‘apologised’ to his team and was then forced to do ‘difficult punishment workouts’ by his trainers.
But all the added work Koepka has done in the gym – and on the practice range – was very much needed, admits Koepka, and he is now feeling much more confident about the state of his game heading into this week’s title defence.
So much so when asked by one reporter today as to whether he has ‘figured something out in his swing’ following a lacklustre showing at The Masters, the big-hitting American bragged his ‘swing is never off’.
He’s solely gone back to basic fundamentals to get the show back on the road.
Koepka replied:
“I took the week off after Augusta. I didn’t touch a club. So Adelaide was kind of the first time we were — did a little work on it. Just went back to basics. That’s kind of the thing. It’s never — my swing is never off. It’s always either something with alignment and ball passion, and kind of get back to those fundamentals and that’s kind of the key for me.”
As for why Koepka has been so successful at the US PGA Championship down the years, he got straight to the point.
Koepka said:
“No idea, I just like majors.”
