For Ange Postecoglou and Tottenham Hotspur, this has been a forgettable week.

Tottenham had fifteen days to reflect after their April 13 loss to Newcastle United before playing again.

In just one week, Spurs have already lost a derby in north London, lost again at Stamford Bridge, and on Sunday were soundly defeated by Liverpool.

The team vying for the Champions League has found that giving up set plays, particularly corners, is a recurring problem.

Arsenal scored two of their three goals from corners, and Chelsea also scored when there was a dead ball.

Ange Postecoglou has consistently dismissed questions about this and how he could require a set-piece coach.

Tim Sherwood, who told Premier League Productions on June 5, 24 at 2:30 pm, said that the former Celtic manager “talks too much to the press” and is “too honest,” so it hasn’t impressed him.

He also emphasized how Guglielmo Vicario, the goalie, was “found out” and is “very weak” from corners after having a great season opening.

Guglielmo Vicario and the problems Tottenham has in the corners

“Ange, I adore him; he seems like a guy you would want to grab a pint with on a Sunday, but he is too honest and talks to the press too much,” Sherwood remarked.

He is discussing the components of the set. This is us, the upper line. This is the location of our game. I believe that they have been discovered. It appears that they have a small amount. It doesn’t matter what the set-pieces are when he is speaking there. It is crucial. He has no justification for saying it is unimportant. Why would you say that?

It has been discovered who the goalie is. He appears to be extremely weak against crosses and has been targeted. People are drawing attention to that. The Premier League is this. This league is the world’s most competitive. Someone is going to discover you. Please note that this is not Scotland. or Japan. or Australia.

Ange Postecoglou does not require a set-piece coach since Austin MacPhee, the set-piece coach for Aston Villa, is a highly regarded individual who has produced amazing results for the team.

However, Villa has played excellent defense this season and has given up the same number of set plays as Tottenham (14).

Therefore, it is not appropriate for Postecoglou to bring in a set-piece coach. Spurs only have to have faith in him. Give him some time, then observe what he prepares.

That won’t just need time and perseverance; it will also need Daniel Levy, who is somewhat of a marmite figure, to support his manager in the transfer market.
