After this weekend’s games, Premier League fixtures will be suspended for two weeks, but Ange Postecoglou has a strategy to keep his team ready. During that time, the Tottenham team will train rather than schedule any friendlies.

Spurs’ next match is at St. James’ Park against a revitalized Newcastle United team. After a challenging season, the Magpies are aiming for European qualifying and have won their last three Premier League games.

In recent weeks, the Lilywhites have also gained some respectable momentum. After a close midweek draw with West Ham, wins against Luton Town and Nottingham Forest have placed Ange Postecoglou’s team back in fourth place, with a match against Aston Villa still to come.

After the Spurs game against Newcastle, they will, regrettably, have to wait a fortnight until their next match, a North London derby against Arsenal on April 28.

During the two weeks off, what are the Spurs players up to?

In response to a question about the team’s plans over the break, Postecoglou stated that regular training will be more beneficial than any friendly matches.

He stated, “We’ll probably just keep it in-house,” according to Football.London. We’ll continue to train. We believe that when we use the group and push the group as a whole, we produce better work. The current strategy is to train through and prepare for the run-in.

This seems like the best course of action. We cannot afford any injuries with Arsenal coming up, and as long as the players are getting enough training in, they should be more than ready for the big match. Furthermore, we are certain that they won’t struggle to stay motivated for that derby.
